Music Update for the World Yo-Yo Contest

We thought we had it working this year, but clearly it is not. The music upload system failed us this year, so we will need you to bring your music on a CD to worlds (Bring 2 in case one is bad). We do recommend you bring an uncompressed version of your music. We had some distortion last year from over compressed music files. If you are in 2A preliminaries please get your music to our music guy on Wednesday night if possible, and by 8am on Thursday if not. You can always get your music in sooner than later. We will not start collecting finals music until the final list is determined.

Live On-Line video stream of the World Yo-Yo Contest

We've just confirmed that the live stream of the world yo-yo contest will happen again this year. We will post the URL on Wednesday at www.WorldYoYoContest.com. We will also be updating the blog there as the event goes on, and there will be a chat room associated with the stream. Tim once again will be running the stream, and we think we have some better tech this year. The stream will happen from about 10am until about 11pm on August 4th, 5th and 6th. Yama has said he once again will be posting videos as soon as he can.

See you at Worlds.

The World Yo-Yo Contest is covered by ESPN.

I just got e-mailed a scan of this. It's in the August 8th issue of ESPN the Magazine. This proves two things. 1. Real magazines will cover yo-yo events, and 2. Time travel might be possible. Link here

Help needed at worlds: Vehicle with Trailer Hitch.
Tony Alonso from NVision Productions has again this year generously offered to loan us his commercial lighting system for use at worlds. This year we need to move it from his warehouse to the Rosen. He will be out of town so that while his staff will help us set it up and run it, they don't have a vehicle with a 2" trailer hitch to move it.
