1. Outside Criss-Crossing Loops

Q: What if after completing the 20 reps, I do a couple more loops that are not Criss-Crossed, is that OK?

A: Yes, but the additional reps must be Outside Loops.

2. Spread Eagle Warp Drive

Q. How spread out do the Warp Drives have to be? What if the planes of each are only about 90 degrees apart?

A: That is OK since it is not specified that the planes of each Warp-Drive be a specified number of degrees apart. The primary and required element is that the trajectories must cross on all 5 reps.

Q: If I lose track of the count or can’t hear the judges count, can I do a sixth rep of Spread Eagle Warp Drive with both hands before the catch?

A: Yes, even though the instructions for this trick clearly require you to catch the yo-yos after the fifth Around the World with each hand you will not be penalized as long as it is a legal rep which crosses behind the back. However, please note that you can’t throw an extra loop with either or both hands before the catch(s).

3. Criss-Cross Loops with Transitions to Vertical Punches and Milk the Cow

Q: Do I have to start the transitions while the yo-yos are still doing criss-cross loops?

A: Yes, you must start the transitions while the yo-yos are still doing criss-cross loops.

Q: Can I do some additional uncrossed loops before transitioning to Vertical Punches?

A: No, as stated in the previous answer the transitions must start while the yo-yos are still doing criss-cross loops. (Note that it is the criss-cross transition that makes this trick a little more difficult than the inside loop transition used at Nationals.

Q: Can I start the transitions on the fifth rep?

A: No. You must do at least 5 reps of criss-cross loops before stating the transitions. In other words, the transitions may start on the sixth (or higher) repetition but not during the fifth rep.

4. Sword and Shield

Q: Why can’t I start this trick by doing loops first and then start the Around the Worlds?

A: Because the trick description requires that you start with Around the World. The object is to have all contestants doing the same trick elements in the same order.

5. Criss-Crossing Punching Bags

Q: What if after I have completed the 15 reps successfully one or both of the yo-yo trajectories drop below 45 degrees, is that OK.

A: Yes, but if you lose control of one or both yo-yos during the extra punches it will be considered missed trick.

Q: What if the yo-yos don’t cross after I have completed the first 15 reps successfully? Is that OK?

A: Yes, but as above if you lose control of one or both yo-yos during the extra punches it will be considered missed trick.

6. Windshield Wipers

Q: How high do the breakaways have to go to be legal?

A: All of the breakaways must at least 45 degrees from the vertical.

7. Inside/Outside Vertical Punches

Q: After I have completed the 10 reps successfully, can I do a couple inside Vertical Punches before catching the yo-yos.

A: Yes, but if you lose control of one or both yo-yos during the extra punches it will be considered a miss.

8. Combined Inside/Outside Reach for the Moon

Q: Can I start this trick with regular Reach for the Moons before starting them inside and outside?

A: Yes, but once you start one hand going outside the other hand must follow immediately with the outside loop element.

9. Behind the Back Cattle Crossing

Q: Can I end the trick with outside hop the fences or an outside loop?

A: No, as stated in the trick description and as shown in the video all of the hops must be "Inside" Hop the Fences.

10. Staircase

Q: Do I have to do at least three Milk the Cows before I start turning?

A: No, one complete rep of Milk the Cow is enough.
